Rory McIlroy says Arnold Palmer Invitational was positive experience

In spite of finishing outside the top 10 places in the recently concluded Arnold Palmer Invitational event, world number one Rory McIlroy believes that he can take plenty of positives from his performance at the tournament.

The Northern Irishman shot a 70 in the end, with two birdies in his final three rounds – his last round of golf before taking a week long break to prepare for the Masters tournament takes place in two weeks, with plenty of history at stake for the 25 year old. He has left with plenty of room for improvement, however, with just one finish inside the top ten despite playing three tournaments on the PGA Tour already this year.

He has shot just one round under the 60s. Rory McIlroy heads into the Masters at the Augusta National where he will be looking to add a third straight major title to his name, as well as the fabled career grand slam – winning all four major titles.

Speaking after the event, McIlroy said that there has definitely been some progress considering what he was working on after the event at Doral. He added that there are still some areas of his game that he needs to tidy up but he saw enough positive signs to be optimistic over the next couple of weeks and he knows what he needs to work on. Rory McIlroy one of the most eligible bachelors

He is the planet’s top ranked golfer, has a charmingly beautiful winning smile as well as millions of dollars in the bank – Rory McIlroy is used to topping several lists in sports.

But when it comes down to the list of the most eligible bachelors in the world, the 25 year old from Northern Ireland comes in at a humbling 35th.

American magazine Town and Country has named the Northern Irishman as one among the top 50 single men around the world. This list is dominated completely by heirs to huge fortunes, media types and even members of the United States’ Kennedy family.
