Rory McIlroy Biography
Rory Mcilroy was introduced to the world of golf at a very young age by his father. His father coached him from a very tender age. Gerry McIlroy, his father was a fine golfer also; he played at a scratch handicap level. He was born in Ireland to a very middle class family but his family was always very supportive and helped him move ahead with his dreams. Rory Mcilroy gave early exhibits of his golfing abilities by hitting a 40-yard drive at the young age of only two years. He was very passionate about the sport from the very start, and he often accompanied his father to the golf course.
There is a common lore in the family that says that young Rory received a golf club as a present, was shown the correct grip by his father, and then he took the club to bed with him that night and held the club properly in his hands. One of his favorites was a video on golf technique produced by golf champion Nick Faldo. His parents worked hard when his talent was being recognized, they worked difficult shifts and also did extra work so that he could chase his dreams. Within years Rory Mcilroy excelled and won many competitions in many age group categories and he became quite popular. He won his first major championship in the 8-10 years age group world championship and he made many heads turn with his deft technique and terrific concentration.
Rory Mcilroy played at the Holywood Golf Club in his early years and here he did most of his training and practice with his father, he was a quick learner and the club still remains his home course. He has represented Ireland and Europe in professional ties and he has brought nothing but glory for his country. He has been so successful as he has a very sound technique and he is always focused on the game at hand, he is a very modest individual with a lot of respect for his family and homeland. The key point in his success is that he takes his game very seriously and puts in a lot of hard work and analysis into every game, he is also a very quick learner and he is always eager to learn from senior players from all teams.
The most striking aspect of the career of Rory Mcilroy will have to be his character both on and off the course. He is a true gentleman and he has been that way throughout his professional career. He has won many important titles in his career but he remains very modest and he has refused to forget his roots. His career has passed through many low patches but he has been able to find his way out of them and get back in form. He also attaches a lot of importance to fitness and he is one of the fittest golfers around. He has a long way to go but a very bright and promising future awaits him.
