Rory Mcilroy knows that his putting has been a big let down in the last week at the US PGA Championship event in New Jersey.

It was his poor putting skills that prevented him from making the cut at the PGA Championship. Rory was not at his best when playing his favorite major and this has made him decide to take a couple of weeks off to hone some of his golfing skills.

The golfer will be in France next week to attend his manager Sean O’Flaherty’s wedding. He will then take a two week break from the game before competing in the following five tournaments that are scheduled to take place in six weeks. The last one will be the Ryder Cup team event. Rory said that even though he has been taking a break for a couple of weeks, he will still be practicing and trying to improve his putting. He is sure that he needs to do something drastic about his putting so that he competes with the top guns on his return to the golfing arena in 2 weeks.

There are many people suffering from the putting problem despite having a very good ball strike. McIlroy is a bit different as he has a good temperament on his side. He had his laser eye operation in December last year. He feels that his eyes have got to be sharper now and should help in reading the greens well. Rory wants to get back to the drawing board and hone his putting skills.

Rory Mcilroy is pretty much pleased with his swings and his tee shots are coming out really well. He knows that he needs to up his game as he has not won any major titles since his back to back winning performance in the summer of 2014.
